Tom Russell Announced As Next FPC Principal
Flagler Schools Superintendent James Tager today recommends James T. “Tom” Russell as the next principal of Flagler Palm Coast High School. He will become the 13th principal at FPCHS, since the school opened in 1974.
“I expect Tom to do a wonderful job at Flagler Palm Coast High School,” says Superintendent Tager. “He is inheriting a great campus which is full of activity and expects to continue a long-standing tradition of excellence. As we went through this process, Tom came out as hungry, humble and smart. I feel he is the best choice for the FPC students, faculty, staff, and Flagler County community.”
“I am grateful to Superintendent Tager and the Flagler County School Board for giving me this opportunity to lead Flagler Palm Coast High School,” Russell said on receiving the news. “This school has played such a vital part in the Flagler County community and I am humbled to be asked to be a part of this.”
Tom Russell has more than two decades of experience in education, as a teacher, principal, and administrator. He most recently served as Superintendent of Schools for Volusia County Schools since 2015. Mr. Russell holds a Master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern in Educational Leadership. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and History from Florida State University.
