Principal's Message from Dustin Sims

Dear Bulldog Family,

When I go to the bank and make a deposit into my account I am certain that at some point I will return to make a withdrawal when I need a few dollars to make an investment.  In order to make that deposit I had to work hard, fulfill my responsibilities, and do it to the best of my abilities. The result is that at some point, I am confident  I will be able to use that deposit in a positive way to make an impact.

Isn’t this the same opportunity we have as adults each and every day?  Each day as a teacher, parent, grandparent, principal, or mentor, we have the opportunity to make a deposit in the life of a young person. It is an investment that at some point I am confident will be able to be turned into an opportunity to make a positive impact. Young people, especially, high school age students, desire adults to make an investment in their lives. Often, it is as simple as time spent together or a conversation. Maybe it is supporting them in an extra-curricular event they are in or helping them improve in. But no matter what, it is an investment. Every young person will go through a time where they struggle and need an adult to come to their aid. This is where the withdrawal of our deposit comes from. If students know an investment has been made in their life, they will listen, they will respect, they will trust you. What greater reward do we receive than to be looked up to, listened to, respected and trusted. Through this we are changing and improving lives.

All it takes is hard work, fulfill our responsibilities, and do it to the best of our abilities. Isn’t making a deposit  into the life of a young person worth it? The investment you make today will pay amazing dividends in a life forever. I ask you to invest into the lives of young people by spending time and using your talents and treasures. I can assure you it will be the best deposit you will ever make.

Focus. Purpose. Commitment.
